Moiré Pattern

I learned about this particular moiré pattern with an old computer program that drew lines from one point on the screen to its edges. I always found it fascinating.
It seems to be caused by the interaction of radiating lines with the regular grid of pixels on a screen, which this HTML5 javascript program is a more general experiment with.
